I love wandering around our allotments, mainly feeling sad that ours doesn’t quite cut the mustard!  I find it so interesting to see the different ways in which people grow things, how some plots are wild and sprawling, while others are neat with wooden boards and smart sheds.

So here’s a look around our allotments in Partington…

I love the brick path that has been set into the ground…

On the left is a blueberry bush in a large pot – I need to find a pot this size, I have two blueberries in my garden and they need more space like this…

How wonderful is this crazy grape vine that has escaped the confines of the greenhouse…

Perhaps one of my favourite sheds, with that beautiful honeysuckle clambering all over it…

This colourful allotment is the first one you see as you drive through the gates – glad it’s not ours that’s right at the front on show!

This is possibly my favourite of all the allotments, I just love the weathered wooden boards, the fruit trees surrounded by vegetables, and the bright orange edible petals from the Calendula…

At the bottom of this allotment are bee hives and we can buy the honey from Pat the chairman of our allotments…

And finally, next year I want to grow nasturtium’s like this, to have enough to pick and put in every summer salad…
